This festival brings the past of the Monterey Peninsula to life. Re-enactors portray events in the area's history, from the first settlers through independence and statehood. In keeping with the event's date falling so close to Valentine's day, there is an emphasis on the romantic aspects of that history. There is something for everyone to learn from history buff to casual visitor. You will also find lots of great food, local music and authentic period dance performances.
