Every Sunday, Insa-don, which is one of the best places in the city to see traditional Korean culture, erupts into a huge living cultural experience. The street is closed off to traffic, making room for street performances of traditional music, dance and theater. Stalls selling pottery, paintings and antiques, as well as food and drink, spring up and a fantastic street party takes place. But it is not all just passive viewing. Visitors to this event are invited to participate in such activities as painting pottery or making rice cakes. It is a great day out for the whole family.
