If you do not mind crowds, this is an event every visitor should experience. In this amazing display of religious fervor, held every January 9th, masses of devotees push and shove as they vie to carry or touch an image of Christ known as the Black Nazarene. Ebony in color, the Black Nazarene was purchased in Mexico and normally reposes in a glass casket in Quiapo Church. Resplendently dressed in red velvet embroidered with gold threads, the image is brought out on this particular day since the 18th century for viewing by hundreds of thousands of supplicants.2 ¢/min and up – call home from over 100 countries!http://travel.comfi.com/Best Value.
