A lovely walk past the charming gingerbread homes along the harbor leads to the annual Oak Bluffs Harbor Festival, sponsored by the Oak Bluffs Association. Booths of vendors line the harbor with scrimshaw, painted ships, woven baskets, and fried shrimp, haddock and fries. There are potato sack games for children and country western fiddlers and rock bands draw both a large tourist crowd and local attendance. There is no admission charge for this mid-June annual event.
