Will definitely return
We enjoyed the atmosphere and the people were friendly. Especially enjoyed Dublin Square Pub. Guinness on draft and Irish dishes were the greatest! We also visisted Hooters, Hard Rock Cafe and a tequila bar near Dublins. Had a great time everywhere! Restaurant/Pub staff were outstanding and interacted with us. Most of the time we were in groups, but on a couple of occasions, my wife and I ventured out "on our own" and had a great time. My only "complaint" if you will, was the fact that I wanted to purchase a shot glass from House of Blues. It was 3:45 and they didn't open until 4:00. Although the store staff were there, I was told to come back in 15 minutes. I did not get the shot glass. Some prices were rather high, but we expected that, so it was not an issue for us. We enjoyed a Sunday afternoon baseball game at Petco Park, which is within walking distance of our hotel. We plan on a return trip to San Diego in the near future and will definitely stay in or near the Gaslamp district. The Gaslamp district is what you make it. There's no pleasing some people. However, I would agree that it's probably not a good place to take children.

Very fun nights on the town.
I have lived in San Diego for 6 years. You can pretty much go downtown to Gaslamp and find interesting things going on Thursday through Sunday night. I highly recommend Henry's Pub located on Fifth. It is usually jam-packed in there on Saturday Nights. The same can be said for "Whiskey Girl's" and "The Field" Irish Bar. During the summer, the Gaslamp can get wild especially after the Padre's games let out. Very attractive women usually come out around 10PM. If you go during the day, Horton Plaza is a great place to shop. However parking gets expensive, and drinks are overpriced at most bars. Overall, I have alot of good memories of this place.

Awesome Food!
Monsoon, Croce, and Ghirardelli was the best. Don't bother taking cabs around, the rental cars are so cheap through Enterprise, $23/day. Monsoon had a very nice Indian buffet and Croce had a nice jazz band. We returned the next evening to share a hot fudge sundae at Gharadelli.
