The city of Berkeley celebrates Earthday like no other city, making it a weeklong event. Environmental appreciation and awareness are brought to the public during this week of theatre, music and dance, as well as lectures running the gamut from eco-theology to genetically modified organisms to the state of the Earth in general. Many festivities take place on the UC Berkeley campus, with the culmination on the final Saturday in downtown's Civic Center Park with food, dance, performances, guest speakers, and an Earth-friendly atmosphere that will have you thinking green. Check the Web site for this year's schedule of events. Admission is free. Note: Some vendors may accept credit cards.
