Back to Comfort Inn & Suites Beach Front Central Great room with a great view The hotel was clean and well maintained. The price was good also. The room had a great view and the staff was helpful. I would definately stay again.
Reviewed by: Nemo from on Jun 30 2009 Have worries about this place We just got back from a stay there while in Myrtle Beach and and it was okay. Front entrance is nicer than what it looks like when you get back to your room. Our room looked like it had been rough housed one too many times. Not modern at all. Old stuff that had been stuccoed and painted over. The bathroom had a weird smell. Dirty hallway carpet. But since returning home we find that our Capitol One credit card we used to purchase the room there, which is the last thing we used on the card, was being used fraudently by someone else. Our cards have now been destroyed, but somehow things were being charged to our card on the Gulf coast 3 days after we left there and came home. So the employees must go hand in hand with how this place looks, and got their hands on our card number or something. I don't understand how they can do this. Hopefully someone is going to be criminally charged soon for bank fraud, etc.... Thank goodness the weird activity taking place on our card after we stayed there was noticed and is being investigated, and hopefully these type of criminal employees will be prosecuted.
Reviewed by: RANDY V from on Aug 17 2008 Great Value and wonderful view The only things I found I didn't like about this hotel was size of the room was a tad small, however, clean. We had a nice view of the ocean and was very relaxing to sit on our balcony in the mornings. The indoor pool however was accessible only by walking outside to it, which in cold weather was a big minus, however the pool allows you to look at the ocean while in the hot tub or when swimming.
Reviewed by: Donna J from on Dec 09 2007 An inn of last resort Having stayed in various Comfort Inns we did expect more. Yes, as mentioned in a previous review the elevator did fall. Management said it was brake failure. In my mind, that translates to maintainence failure. We found this Comfort Inn was very run down and poorly maintained. For example, both of the gates around the pool enclosure had non-functioning latches. Any child could just walk in and fall into the pool. The vending machine was completely empty, the spa jets didn't work, etc. The location was convenient and the room was clean enough, but we would not consider staying here again.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 06 2007 be careful on the elevator On Sept 4, 2007 as we were bringing our luggage out to go down the elevator the fire alarm went off. We didn't know if there was an actual fire or false alarm. In a minute a lady came up the stairs and said the elevator had crashed. There was a lady inside. It fell from the 3rd floor was what we heard. We had just gotten off the elevator a couple of minutes before the crash. The woman was conscious, but from what we could tell her legs were her biggest problem. She may have other injuries when they check her at ER. I think they need to have the elevators checked more thoroughly, we had talked the whole weekend about the heat inside and if we had been trapped inside you couldn't breath.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Sep 04 2007 Do Not Stay Here!!!! We booked our room six months in advance, thinking, as we were told on the phone, that the rooms were recently remodeled. The rooms may have been painted, but that was ALL!!! The carpet was ripped and dirty. The shower pressure was very poor, and when it did work it was either too hot or too cold. Don't be fooled by the lobby, because it looked wonderful, but the rooms were a mess!!! The door barely locked, and when I tried to open the balcony door, I had to push so hard, that by the time it finally opened, I nearly fell off the balcony. Also, the a/c worked when it felt like it, and when it did work, I had to use my tweezers to operate it, since the knob was missing to control the air. Yes, the people were friendly, even the front desk was nice, but even they felt sorry for me and my family and one person openly apologized. I would have went to another hotel, but they were all filled to capacity... Our stay was during the week of August 7, 2006. Yes, we were in the center of everything, but at what cost to our enjoyment? We stayed out as much as possible...but even we had to return at night to sleep...one bed even had springs coming through the mattress, and the bed linens were horrible.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 08 2006 Disappointed with Choice Hotels We stayed here from July 16 to July 20, 2005. The elevator was so hot that if it got stuck you would be dead within 5 minutes. Absolutely no air in it. If you get cleaned up and go out in them, you wasted your time bathing. There are seven floors and 4 penthouses on top. Only one elevator goes to the 7th floor and PH. The other elevator only goes to the 6th floor. However, we walked 7 flights of stairs to avoid the rickety hot elevators. The room was worn, but fairly clean. The bathtub was not inviting however. The pigeons had roosted on the balcony, leaving their droppings everywhere, right as you walked out the balcony door and on the door handle on the outside. We could not enjoy the balcony view of the ocean for the pigeon mess. The outdoor pool was nice, the indoor pool was large. The seating area around the pool was okay, beach access was good. We paid $600+ for 4 nights and I expected way more for the price. This was not a motel that you could go into and feel like you could flop down anywhere. I took my Lysol and used it all over the room. I feel like we were cheated out of a nice hotel experience. I don't even feel like we have been on a vacation.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jul 25 2005 Use only if last place on the beach Sign at desk states that no refund is available for early check out which should have been a clue. The room we stayed in was in an old facility. The shower didn't drain. We fixed it ourselves. The shower had no soap dish. The toliet rocked and need to be secured to the floor. The approach to the room was dingy and cluttered with maintenance materials.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 26 2005 Beach Hotel We had to get a plunger at 11pm, plunger toilet by ourselves, and take it back down. When we first turned on the shower it made a loud noise like an elephant running throw the bathroom. It even vibrated the floor on the other side of the room. The toilet paper was on the wall behind the toilet so you had to turn all the way around to get it. The elevator was last inspected on 10/13/2003. Two of the men at the front desk are very nice and helpful. They have a heated pool but you have to go outside to get to it. Also from the outside it looks like it is all inside, but on the sides there are opens for the air to come throw the walk way. So when it is cold out you HAVE to have a coat on.
