Back to Breakers Resort Hotel & North Tower Never again The hotel is old and run down. The lobby, gym and restaurant looked ok (1st floor), but when you step off the elevator it all goes down hill. It's like you are walking into a dark cinder block (covered with stucco) basement. The halls were dark and dreary and the rooms were sub-standard. Breaker’s reservationist said it was discounted (right!) and it cost us around $130 a night to stay in a dump. Breaker’s reservationist also said there was a 3 day minimum, and you had to pay in advance of your stay. That’s so you didn’t walk out after you see the conditions past the first floor. Also, the pictures on the internet for The Breakers Boutique North Towers are bogus, it looks nothing like that. BREAKERS YOU SHOULD BE ASHAME!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Sep 09 2009 Will Always Stay and Reccomend The Breakers is always clean and have good customer service. I stayed there a few years back at the towers and it was great then. This time I was being CHEAP and stayed somewhere else. Where I had a HORRIBLE experience and ended up coming back to a place I consider RELIABLE and true to the service and value I received a few years ago.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 25 2009 Will return EVERY year My wife and I stayed at the Breakers North Tower, Oct. 2008, and will go back every year. From the room, to the housekeeping and the friendly, helpful staff, we had a fantastic week. Close to everything, and a wonderful beach. We HIGHLY recomend staying!!!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 21 2008 We can't wait to go back! We are glad that we didn't read the reviews before we went. Anything you book without seeing in person or hearing about positively word by mouth is a risk. But, we did hear from someone who stayed at the Boutique recently and said they liked it and had no complaints. Well, we had no complaints either! We had a one bedroom queen with the kitchette. The kitchen could have used a few more utensils and more pots. It was basic but would have hard on the cook if there were a few more people in the room. The room was nice decorated with lovely furnishings and all fairly new. Maid service was prompt and friendly and did a good job. THe grounds are kept up and clean. Wonderfully big hot tub that fits about 30 people. Great view of the ocean. Front desk was friendly and helpful.
Reviewed by: Elaine R from on Sep 14 2008 Will NEVER Stay Here Again!!! My husband and I usually stay at the Caravelle Resort, but it had no vacancy. We made the horrible mistake to stay at the Breakers. The room, for what it cost (over 100.00 a night) was a little bigger than a bathroom...very disapointing. Then the bathroom looked as though it had not been clean (dirty toliet, hair in the shower). But to top it all off, when we went to got o bed, there were HAIRS, yes HAIRS and crumbs in both of the bed sheets!!! The pillow cases were also dirty and stained. Needless to say that was the straw that broke the camels back. I would never stay here again, even it was free. This place was disgusting and I would not recommend it to anyone. I would stay at a hotel away from the beach if necessary!!!!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Sep 14 2008 Great as always this is the 2nd time we have stayed in the boutique tower, and it was very clean, could have a little more utensils but overall great room.although the pull out bed was very "springy". we had to go buy an air mattress so our kids could get a good nights sleep.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 24 2008 never again The room we got was not like the one they show online. It was dirty had roaches and just plain oh nasty. They don't mention that the breakers has other hotels next door that suck and are part of the breakers. You might get one of the nasty rooms in them when you book your vacation. We had little or no maid service. Don't make the same mistake I did and get rip off by thinking you are going to a nice hotel.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 05 2008 Ask before you pay!!!! Be sure to ask if you can see your room before you pay for it! I realize what the difference between ocean view and ocean front is, but I guess Breakers has a different definition. We accepted an ocean view without looking before paying...big mistake! An ocean view room means you can see the ocean just not the whole ocean view. If I went to the corner of the room stood on a chair I could see about 20 feet of ocean. Ant room thats not ocean "FRONT" view should be called ally/parking lot view. Next, the parking is terrible. They have 20 spots right at the hotel...not SUV friendly, but most of the time you will have to park a block down and up 7 to 8 levels up before you find a spot. Don't let the place tell you that it is only 3-4 months old. The shack...I mean room they put us in was a 20 year old Holiday Inn with a 3-4 month old paint job. The AC, toilet, sliding glass door, pool, service was all left over from the old business. Lastly, if you don't take my advice and plan to go here anyway...plan an extra day or so because you will use those days waiting on the stone age elevator (Yes only one in our building) Slow as molassas in January!!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 13 2007 Excellent Hotel We stayed at the Breakers in the spring. The service desk people were always ready to go out of their way to help. The room was beautiful and very clean. The pool/lazy river was very entertaining for the kids. I had a very hard time leaving. I have stayed in Myrtle Beach many times and this is far the best hotel I have stayed in. The only fault would be the restaurant/bar; the food was expensive and not worth the value.
