A Grand Time at the Grand Hotel
Wow, just visited Nam for the first time this past 8/07 and stayed three nights at the Grand. Very Beautiful Hotel. The service was great, friendly and professional, and they all spoke English (what a relief for me). Compared to most European and American buffets (being of the same caliber as this hotel), this one topped them all. Food was fresh, which offered local and as well as foreign en-trees. Very close to inexpensive shopping centers and to the port. The pool and spa were a surprising site and just "was the icing on the cake". Be careful when it rains, the smooth tile just outside of the hotel can become very slippery. Being situated in the corner, it was very easy to grab a taxi. Plenty of Pho restaurants in the area, "hole in the walls" that outdo any Pho you've ever had in the States...there's one just across the street that is rated #1 in Ho Chi Minh City. The Business center was fully equipped, clean and the broadband was Fast! Stayed on the newer addition of this old hotel and had a beautiful corner room with a great view. My wife and I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Nam for the first time or returning.

don't waste your time in this hotel
Breakfst is not nice at all but the staffs is very nice and polite. The toilet will flash at it own in the middle of night(scary). Is not very safe as the room is using normal key to open. I check in on the 07/09/06 and book additional room for my vietnam girlfriend to stay. AT night, came back from the clubing, the staff shouted at her that she can't stay in my room for over night as the CCTV is watching us previous night. Is too much after book additional room for her but the staffs still want to interfere our personal life.I check out the next day and stay at Metropole Hotel. Is great, cheap, nice and really worth for money. And remember to try the beef noodle at Metropole Hotel.Super super goods.
