Back to Harrah's Cherokee Casino Lovely Casino and Hotel Experience It has been 3 trips now to the beautiful Harrahs Cherokee Hotel. We have had a wonderful experience all 3 times we have gone. The rooms are nice and large, the staff is top notch friendly, and we plan to return there soon as we can get away again. I am not a smoker but I had no problem at the casino or the hotel. I kind of like the whole casino experience, and seeing people smokers and non smokers alike being able to enjoy this casino and hotel together made me feel good. I think the complaints about the smoky atmosphere are unwarranted. If you want a smoke free environment, don't plan a trip to a casino atmosphere where people who do smoke are allowed. I think there are not many places left for them to go now, and it felt good to see them enjoying themselves and not being treated like criminals. They were treated with the same respect as we were, and that was good to see. I think that if you are an extremist when it comes to smoke, a casino hotel and the casino itself is still a great get-away, and if it bothers you to have people smoking, just take a nice hike instead of going into a casino. It comes with the environment in a casino. I have hit good jackpots 2 out of the 3 times we have gone there as well! It was comfortable, clean, friendly, and a great experience. The only small complaint would be that there is not free WiFi, but with so many things to do around there that was not really a problem, we didn't miss it that much. We could have gotten it had we really wanted it by paying for it. (I am used to free service though). With the jackpots we hit,and the whole experience we had while there, I have to say that it is some of the most exciting times we have had on get-aways.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jul 24 2009 Nonsmokers Are An Inconvenience Here As with all Harrah's hotels we have stayed in, the room was quite nice, plush and comfortable. However, I have smoke allergies and cannot tolerate sleeping in rooms permeated with cigarette smoke. When we arrived to check in, I was informed that there were no nonsmoking rooms left. After complaining rather "vigorously" (I had booked over 2 months in advance), a room suddenly appeared, though @ 8pm it had still not been cleaned. With all that said, once we were finally checked in the room was nice. Surely if Harrah's Cherokee consistently runs out of nonsmoking rooms it would clue someone that that need to designate additional nonsmoking rooms? Oh, and the nonsmoking casino is an insult-why not just put us in a basement, or a hallway, or a broom closet? Believe it or not, I am giving it another shot-it's hard to beat comp. for a price. I'll keep you posted, maybe they are learning!

Reviewed by: morgan from on Jun 28 2009 Loved Our Anniversary!! My wife and I recently spent our 43rd wedding anniversary in Cherokee. We stayed at Harrah's Casino and were impressed with the level of professionalism the staff possessed, and how warm and welcome they made us feel. Granted, the gaming wasn't much, but we weren't anticipating it to be, going into it. We especially enjoyed the little redheaded girl we talked to for a bit when we had our breakfast in the selu cafe, she was a young fresh face with an outstanding attitude and made us feel like actual guests instead of just another check to ring up. Thank you harrah's for making it an enjoyable experience. We will definately be back!!
Reviewed by: Bob from on Dec 28 2008 The rooms and casino are great The rooms are large, well equiped, beds are sooo comfortable and we love the large bathrooms. We dont always get the best view, but that is the least important. The new tvs are an added extra. The hotel staff is always pleasant and welcoming. We have a two hour drive to the casino but its a beautiful drive. We have been to the casino about 20 times.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 07 2008 Great Hotel We have stayed here about 5 times and never had a bad experience. We like the Selu Cafe for Breakfast. As we play Slots & Video poker the lack of table games doesn't bother us. We usually spend the day in the mountains & gamble at night. I love the Indian Art.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 17 2007 It's a magnificent hotel but..... It's a magnificent hotel but it does have it's issues. We had a problem with housekeeping. They didn't seem to have any sort of schedule. I asked for my room to be cleaned by a certain time. I also asked for housekeeping to not get into our in-room fridge because my husband is a diabetic and we keep his needles for his insulin in the fridge. This was so housekeeping would not have to come into contact with them and we removed all of them when we left the hotel. Well, housekeeping keep coming in the middle of the afternoon. We asked for morning cleaning because we always play at night and sleep in the afternoon. We would have to leave the room for housekeeping to clean. The housekeeping department got into the fridge twice after being asked not to and actually removed the needles that my husband using for his insulin.
