Back to Millennium Hotel Durham Good Value I liked the fact that I could get a full service hotel for the price that I paid. I am not always comfortable being in the smaller hotels, plus I like being able to order Room Service and eat in the room rather than sit in the restaurant or bar alone. I enjoyed my stay and the staff were very friendly, especially the maid that cleaned my room. This hotel was recommended by the folks over at Duke Hospital and it is very convenient with the shuttle service that they provide. It makes it a lot easier not having to worry about finding a place to park and walking a long distance to get to the hospital.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 29 2009 Very convenient to Duke Medical Center We needed to find a room to stay overnight for an appointment over at Duke Hospital. The hotel was very close by and even though we were not familiar with Millennium we decided to stay there. The room was big and the beds are very nice. The shuttle service to and from the hospital was a big plus! The drivers were all friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay there on future visits.
Reviewed by: Anthony from on Apr 28 2009 More than I thought... This hotel, though showing it's age was definitely comfortable and convenient to Duke Medical Center. The look is that of a lodge and there is a bit of a walk from the check-in area to get to where the rooms are but once you know where the room is you can park closer to a different entrance which will cut down on the walk. The rooms are nice and large and the beds are very comfortable and seem to be realtively new. The other furnishings in the room though need to be updated. Overall we had a good stay and the workers were very friendly.

Reviewed by: SHC: Hip Patient Extraordinaire from on Feb 16 2009 Wasn't What I Expected! Recently on a business trip, I was booked to stay at the Millennum Hotel and thought it would be a good idea to check it out and read the reviews before making the trip. Well, to say the least, after reading the reviews I was ready to forego the arrangements made and fork out my own money to stay elsewhere but figured I would check it out in person before doing so. I'm glad I did. It wasn't what I expected. I was pleasantly surprised and relieved. The rooms were clean, all of the staff friendly, helpful, and courteous. I used the shuttle daily for business, my wife daily on her shopping excursions, excellent service. Several nights we dined in the Bel Gusto (Hotel Restaurant) and was served with great food and smiles each night. Trying to recall a negative of our week's stay was hard but there was a minor one with our cell phone reception in certain areas of the hotel. A minor flaw that could happen anywhere. If you happen to stay here, I hope your experience was as good as ours.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 10 2009 Decent utility hotel for Duke/hospitals This hotel is probably not what you expect from the name "Millenium." It is adequate, clean and comfortable. The staff are responsive and very friendly. The hotel was excellent about finding and shipping to me a tech gadget I'd left behind.
Reviewed by: wrybread from on Feb 10 2009 Not that good for a medical stay We were going to Duke Med Center and thought the location would be good. We were there for almost two weeks while my wife had chemo treatment. They had a medical rate but our experience was poor. The room was small and didn't seem that clean, the food was overpriced and the shuttle wasn't running that often.

Reviewed by: Hennie from on Jul 22 2008 Only Advantage is Convenient to Duke University The absolute only thing I liked about this hotel was that it was close to Duke University which was our reason for being there in the first place. Had I known what I know now, I probably would have chosen to stay further away and rent a car.
