A little taste of old Texas
A very authentic reincarnation of old Texas. Lots to do. Definately would put this on your agenda, especially with kids. Great steaks!

If you visit Dallas or Ft Worth, you gotta see the Stockyards
Had a great time! It really made me feel like I was in Texas! I'm from the Midwest so we don't have alot of cowboys, it was so fun!

Back in Time
This is like stepping back in time to the days of the Wild West. Men & Women in Western (old West) attire, riding horses, or walking along, tipping hats, saying "Howdy, Maam, how ya'll doin'?" Spurs jingling,, what a sight. I love the whole experience and go there often. The shops are actually very well staffed with very helpful, friendly personnel. Everyone dressed in Cowboy attire. And I found the prices reasonable, not pricey like most tourist areas.

A fun, historic time
The Stockyards in Downtown Fort Worth make you like you're back in the 1800's, herding your cattle through the city. It's a flashback in time. I love going there every visit I make to Fort Worth. It's definitely on my site to see list each time.

Don't Come to Fort Worth w/o Going to the Stock Yards!
Did I say there is something for everyone. Shopping - YES, Drink - Yes, Saloons - YES, Mexican Food - YES, Steaks - YES.. Plus, the coolest thing ever!!! A for real cattle drive right down the middle of the street. You can smell the cattle and the cowboys! uh, you don't smell the cowboys. But what an experience to see cattle just as it was hundreds of years ago. Don't miss the Train! I wish the ride was a little longer, but it is well worth the few bucks to ride the coolest train in Texas! Plan to spend a day or more in the Stock Yards. Plus, check the website for events and concerts.

Experience real Texas
Go back in time and experience real Texas at the Fort Worth Stockyards, some call it the Wall Street of the West because when Cattle was King, This was the place to be.

If you want a Texas experience but has only time to go to one place in Texas, this is it! This place has it all - cowboys, railroads, western music, cattle drives, Old West architecture, and all the Texas souvenirs you may be looking for. Time your visit to coincide with the cattle drives, which runs daily at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. A true Texas experience!

Outstanding ambience.
I had a blast at the stockyards! I was hoping for a little bit more historical content, though. Most of the places there are geared to selling you something (at something of an inflated price, in my opinion). However, I thoroughly enjoyed the bars, especially the places that would allow you to get beer "to go". Yes, some of the bars will sell you a bottle of beer and let you walk around the stockyards with it, at least outdoors.
