Each October, San Diegans participate in this celebration to honor hometown military personnel. Countless events are held throughout the extra-long 'week' including the wildly popular MCAS Miramar Air Show. In addition, the historical Star of India makes a sailing expedition throughout the San Diego Bay. Another popular event is the Sea-n-Air Parade, where military vessels and aircraft parade throughout the bay. Viewers line the Broadway Pier and Navy Pier to watch the extravaganza.
