Back to Renaissance São Paulo Hotel clearly the best I have stayed at the best hotels in the Sao Paulo area and the Renaissance is by far the best hotel in the city given the rooms and the service provided.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Sep 21 2005 Unparalled experience I have been to the Renaissance many times and have always appreciated the outstanding accomodations. But what really stands out are the wonderful people who work there. I get the sense that there is nothing they wouldn't do for you. My hat is off to them!
Reviewed by: Tim from on Sep 18 2005 Wonderful That review written by the Brazilian guy is a bit too exaggerated, as traffic and noise are always major problems is a massive, 3rd largest city in the world like Sao Paulo. I am Brazilian as well. I work in the travel industry in London, UK and use to travel a lot, staying in magnificent hotels, and I can say, from a professional point of view, the Renaissance Sao Paulo is considered one the best hotels in Brazil. Great location, beautiful and modern building, nice and elegant decoration, really class A. Bedroom sizes are normal if you do not want to pay higher rates to stay at the Vinoy Suite, for example, which is meant to be their Junior Suite. Drinks and nibbles at the Club Lounge with amazing views are a must. Regular travellers staying at the Renaissance for business or leisure will not regret at all. And rates are surprisingly average for a hotel like this when you compare with others in the same category.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 05 2005 Renaissance Sao Paulo Wonderful hotel. We stayed there six days in September of 2004. We thought the location, the staff and the amenities were first class. If returning to Sao Paulo we would stay there without doubt. We had some special arrangements made for us and they went off perfectly, smoothly.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 07 2004 Renaissance Sao Paolo, Brazil The Renaissance in Sao Paolo is one of my favorite hotels - I've stayed at many around the world, and the location, beautiful interior, clean and modern rooms are very impressive. I stayed there many times, and each time was consistently excellent. The location is central and the hotel can be a popular place for people to gather for drinks in the Lobby - the vibrant environment adds to the charm of the hotel!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 31 2004 excellent This hotel is a jewel in a tough city. It's relatively new and has many ammenities that other hotels do not. The previous reviewer captured some of the problems with this hotel, but it is definitely worth the price. While Crowne Plaza may have slightly bigger rooms for 1/3 the price, the quality of the Renaissance surpasses many other Sao Paulo hotels. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the bar staff was equally good. The quality of the rooms was high, but size could be an issue. I only stayed 6 nights and I can see how 3 weeks would become a problem. The other comments made by the reviewer apply to all Sao Paulo hotels. Traffic is always a problem and all of the hotels in the center are subjected to the same constraints. In terms of safety, this neighborhood is very safe, I lived here for 2 years, and after 8pm is actually safer than other times since more people are on the street.
Reviewed by: Daniel from on Aug 23 2004 Not sure if it is worth the money As a frequent traveler, I was quite impressed upon arriving at the Renaissance Sao Paulo. Unfortunately, the excitement lasted pretty much until I arrived in my room.Although 'nice' the room was very small, especially when staying for a long period of time (I was there for 3 LOOOOONG weeks). Also, room service, drinks and the items in the mini bar were extremely over priced, even for those paying in USD.As an example, a small bottle of Evian water was about $6 (while other hotels may charge you half of that). The hotel staff was ok, a bit snotty, especially at the restaurant, which may explain why there were only three tables occupied on a Friday evening. I wasnt really sure why maybe because I spoke Portuguese with an accent? Who knows There is no indoor pool and for those who may not be aware, yes it does get pretty cold during Fall and Winter. The good thing is that there are several nice restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. Dinner is usually not served until 8 or 9 PM, so make sure that if you walk to a near by establishment, you take a cab back to the hotel (should ask the restaurant to call for one). I would NOT recommend anyone to roam the streets alone after 8 PM, especially if you do not speak Portuguese. The worse part of all was that to get to the hotel during rush hour is a nightmare. It can take you over an hour to go maybe 10 miles because the entire city is under construction! I returned to Brazil the following month and chose a different hotel because I didn't want to deal with the traffic, pollution and high prices and I was born there!
