This was Edmonton´s first Japanese restaurant, and in its new (as of 1998) location, it continues to be a local favorite. The specialties are sushi and robata (grilled fish, meat, and vegetables). The Bento Boxes, which are black lacquered boxes filled with Japanese delights, are a popular lunch selection. The Mikado's own sushi pizza (on a rice crust) is highly recommended. For a little privacy, reserve one of the tatami rooms in this bright, cheerful and utterly delightful restaurant. A sushi bar is also available.
