Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 02 2009 Great Place, Love it I liked the decor, the staff, the atmosphere and the policy they have. If someone does not have a key, they can not go up to the rooms. It was convenient the fact that they have currency exchange at the lobby. The staff speaks fluent english and very nice. I only ate one meal there, was not impress. The only thing I could say needs some improvement is the room decor. Great ocean view, walking distance to the colonial zone. I will definetly stay there again.

Reviewed by: Andre R from on Nov 03 2008 Okay once you get past the check-in I actually enjoyed the hotel once I got past the checkin! Due to the regulations of the hotel, make sure everyone staying at the hotel is on the list that they may or may not inform you of, because I arrived after my boyfriend, and was denied entry into the hotel, and then was told I couldn't stay at the hotel because I wasn't on the list! Crazy right. So then I try to rent a separate room, and they wouldn't even let me rent a room. Finally after about 45 minutes of arguing with the front desk clerk, a manager came out and let me just sign a piece of paper that was verification that I would be staying for the 14 day duration. Beyond this, my stay was great. The staff was friendly, and the free breakfast that accompanied our room selection (again you must check and verify that you get the breakfast) was pretty good. They also have a happy hour that was good too! I just felt the initial hassle left a bad taste in my mouth. The rooms were clean, but bathrooms very small, and we had to change rooms once due to a water leak in the first room. I would compare the rooms to a Holiday Inn Express type deal, nothing swank, not at all what you think when you look at the lobby. The elevators were a little scary too, making noise when you ride. The staff was nice though, very attentive, and the location is okay. You have to get out and walk to see the local things, but the road outside the hotel is very busy. The taxi will cost you $9 USD to get to the colonial zone, but then you can get out and walk. You will do better to rent a car if you want to go to the beach, because the taxi drivers hike the prices up substantially. The Pool is nice and the spa is nice. The internet is wireless and only free on the 10th floor if you have entry to that floor, and the lobby, if not you have to pay to use it in your room. The gym was small, but nicer than most hotel gyms.
Reviewed by: ivyprincess1908 from on May 28 2008 NICE HOTEL GREAT LOCATION Great hotel...friendly staff. GOOD FOOD and service staff is quick to respond. I recommend it to one and all. Located near many shops and area is easily accessible from anywhere in the capital.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 08 2008 Nice place The staff was attentive, the breakfast buffet was excellent, and you get a pretty good exchange rate for $$ at the front desk. I'd stay there again. Good downtown location.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 01 2008 Needs Renovation!!!!!!!!!!!! The lobby, pool area, bar and restaurant was nice. However, the rooms were like Motel 6. I could not believe they rated this hotel as a star 4. I could possibly see a 2.5 rating. The room was horrible. I don't know about any of the other hotels in the area but the Renaissance appeared to be nice. I would not stay at this hotel again and I would not recommend it.
