Maybe I am biased because I have seen many cathedral's all around the world, but I was expecting to see more from the main cathedral in Puerto Vallarta. It's pretty from the outside, but the inside is rather plain and seems newly redone. It's worth a visit if you're in the area anyways, but definitely not worth a special trip.

This church is central in the downtown area and is beautiful. On sunday morning the church was full of people and the doors open. the parishoners wecolmed all.

I loved the way it was aranged. It was a beautiful sight and probebly the best historical one I saw on my trip. The best time to visit is in the mid-summer when you can swim in the ocean. The experience was awsome!

Very inviting with the doors open with locals and tourists alike praying. A nice place to sit, absorb the beauty and thank God for such an amazing place to relax.

OLG is a beautiful cathedral located right across from the main plaza in downtown Vallarta. The interior is white plaster and marble with gold accents and beautiful stained glass. You can hear the church bells toll on the hour. Also across the street, you will find several little religious shops selling bless ed religious items. During the festival of the Virgin of Guadalupe (Dec. 12) all the posadas end up at the cathedral. The streets are closed down to automobiles and there is a carnival atmosphere that is loads of fun. December is a great time to visit. Just remember, this is a house of worship for the people of the city. I have seen countless, thoughtless tourists walk through during weddings, services, etc. and talk like they are the only ones in the church, snapping pictures and being inconsiderate. Please step lightly and reverently when you visit. It is a lovely place to see!

It was one of the most beautiful sites, in Puerto Vallarta. Have been in there on more than one occasion. Will be seeing it,again, when we return to P.V. in Feb. 2008.

Upon entering the Church of Our Lady of Guadeloupe, one feels the spirit of many European cathedrals. It is beautiful from the wonderful windows, the crystal chandeliers, the beautiful altar, and the magnificent organ. To sit in the quiet reminds us of why we are on the Earth. If you attend the English Mass on Sunday at 10:00 a.m., you will find many Americans and Canadians who think the same thing. On the step on Sunday, the Sisters of Charity have some unique religious goods for sale at reasonable priceds. This is a great place to go in P.V.
