Back to Lykavittos Hill Every thing you are saying is TRUE ! Hey ! I've just move to Athens for my studies and I went there like in other best spots to see in greece and YES ! it s scary and beautiful at the same time because everyone knows that Athens is a mess but from up there it s like if this mess has a sens..hehe
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 25 2009 visual recap of Athens This trip up the hill in Athens is well worth it and should be part of anyone's itinerary! The cable car was nice (for those of us who don't want to hike) and the view was fantastic. You can really get a feel for how HUGE Athens is, sprawling out into the distance (similar to Los Angeles actually). 360-degree views to the mountains & ocean weather permitting. Great view of the Acropolis & the ancient olympic statium. The hilltop is also home to the chapel of St. George and a small cafe so you can take a break. Make sure you bring your camera or even binoculars.

Reviewed by: ÉùÜííçò from on Jan 15 2008 fantastic Loved the place, When we went up we did a tour of the small church (St George) before going to the restaurant (I am not sure I think its called HORIZONS) fantastic food and evening. The only disappointment was that they did not play any greek music for the background as I was entertaining foreign guests who wanted to listen to it.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Dec 07 2007 Lykavittos Hill The most beautiful scenery in all of athens! You feel like you can see the world, and in ancient times, the feeling must have been multiplied.
Reviewed by: Lorelei from on Nov 22 2007 Great View The best view of Athens. You can climb or take a cab from Paraka to the top (10euro) and walk down. The walk down is easy.
Reviewed by: dr w from on Sep 28 2007 honest view went at dusk, so we had to take the cable car to the top. two words: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. everything from the cable car (my first experience) to the view, to the church at the top. Would have liked to dine at the top but it wasn't in our price range, and we were content with the view. Caution, was windy (we went in march), bring an extra something to throw over yourself, but shouldnt be a problem in the warmer months.

Reviewed by: lara 3 from on Mar 22 2007 Amazing view Lykavittos Hill is amazing. I suggest visiting it in the evening around sunset. Not only is the view incredible, but you can enjoy a nice dinner at sunset. It is not too terribly expensive, but you do have to pay to ride a cable car to the top (I think it was about 3 euro). It is definitely worth your time!
