Located 25-miles northwest of the Lushunkou District in the the Sea of Bohai, this tiny island is a true geographic wonder. Towering cliffs almost completely encompass the island making it the definition of remote. Yet to the black eye-browed adder, one of the most venom-filled snakes in the world, it serves as home. More than 13,000 of these snakes reside here, some so small that they resemble discarded strands of yarn.
