Designed by Oswald Mathias Ungers and opened in 2001, the neo-cubist Wallraf-Richartz-Museum is the perfect backdrop for this breathtaking exhibition of post-15th century art. The exhibition is based primarily upon the collection of Ferdinand Franz Wallraf which includes Medieval works from Germany and Holland, 17th century pieces from Italy and Spain as well as some stunning examples of the major 19th century schools (romanticism, realism and impressionism).
