This is one of several smallish islands collectively known as the Sibu archipelago located about three kilometres off the eastern coast of Johor. Accessible by boat from the Tanjung Leman Jetty, many of the islands are uninhabited and make for excellent diving, snorkeling, fishing and beach-combing. Although there are several family-run village-style chalets for rent, the main luxury-class accommodation is the four-star Sibu Island Resort on Pulau Sibu Tengah. Besides popular sea sports like canoing, windsurfing and sailing, visitors can also island-hop and enjoy the laid-back charm of Malay fishing villages like the picturesque Kampung Duku on Pulau Sibu Besar.
