As a port of entry, the Jaffa port has seen better days - many of them. This is rumoured to be the oldest functioning port in the world. Today the massive dockside warehouses are run down, and largely vacant. On the ground floor of the abandoned warehouses are fish restaurants (most on the upscale side), one after the next. With fishing boats coming and going within view, the freshness of the fish can hardly be questioned. The harbour is home primarily to small private boats and yachts. Several companies offer charter excursions, including Sababa (+972 3682 5753). At the far southern end of the port, a man-made jetty can be accessed. Leaping from rock to rock, past fishermen, a nice view can be had of Jaffa and the entire Tel Aviv coast.NYC Best Hotel Deals: 50% Savings In New York!
