Back to Catamaran Resort Hotel & Spa .what can i say it was perfect. nothing to dislike ,concierge ,front desk,house-keeping very efficient & helpful.can't forget the wonderful restaurant. i will definitely go back. our kids 10&6 loved it too.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jul 19 2009 Okay, I guess While the hotel is beautiful and full of lush tropical atmosphere, the staff is average as well as the rooms. Whether you self or valet park, there is a fee of $15 or $20 a day. The price is a bit high for a slightly smaller than average size hotel room, there are no safes or fridges to store anything, little storage space for long trips. Great food at the restaurant and the hotel is not located on a beach front, it's a bay front. The view is great from the bay, the water is merky, and a bit too dark to go in. Great for tanning and there is a great Boat ride you can take from Catamaran to Bahia Resort for a night event.
Reviewed by: DrYoung from on Jun 23 2009 Great location, but needs reno and happier staff. Very pretty grounds, and rooms are clean but really need upgrading. Some staff are friendly and sporting a smile. But most, particularly the front desk, don't like to be bothered and have miserable attitudes. The cleaning staff are extremely friendly, courtious, and really made our stay wonderful. All in all, would probably stay here again and spend the extra to get the 1 bedroom suite for a family of 4.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 12 2009 We had a great time There are many conflicting reviews of the Catamaran floating around. Our stay was excellent. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, pool large (though they need more towels)and the physical grounds very attractive. The location of the hotel in Mission Beach is outstanding with bay, beach and restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotel staff provided great directions to attractions and local eateries. If you decide to stay here, be sure you request a room facing the bay, even if it is a garden view. The parking garage view would not have been to my liking.
Reviewed by: Rob from on Jul 01 2008 This place is like sleeping in a dumpster!!! This crap house is soooo old, dirty, broke down it's ridiculous. I might as well have stayed at a hostel for $17 a night. The staff is retarded. The rooms are bug infested, no hot water having, dirt ridden, hell holes!!!! This place should be burned to the ground. It's terrible!!!!!!!! NEVER STAY HERE, EVER, EVER, EVER!
Reviewed by: charity from on Jun 24 2008 True meaning of a resort Great rooms in the tower with a awsome view of both the white sandy beeches of the bay and the ocean off to the side. The live tropical birds and stream with lage fish swimming inside and outside are great to walk by. The staff were over friendly. The secure parking areas were nice . A very clean, well run organization. Seem like many afairs booked each day , luncheons and a ferry boat even came to their peir to take clients out. Could not ask for much more. The spa seems like the big draw. Well worth a stay. Lastly the out door pool is well attended.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jun 01 2008 Nice hotel I stayed here for a meeting and I didn't really have any major complaints. The resort is beautiful with lots of trees and water. I like seeing the ducks, swans, and parrots. Check-in was easier here than any other hotel I've been to. The bathrooms are a bit old. Other than that, it isn't very well lit at night which I didn't like too much and the surrounding area seemed a little sketchy to me (but I'm not from CA ...).
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Dec 11 2007 Overpriced Dump It's a great location, but the rooms are dirty and in need of renovation. Flies everywhere, things don't work, staff unknowledgeable. If it were $100 or so per night, it would be reasonable, but way overpriced for things to be in terrible condition and have unconcerned management.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Sep 10 2007 Great trip with the kids I am so glad that we chose the Catamaran for our hotel. We stayed in the tower and had beautiful views of Pacific Beach and the neighborhood. We had great breakfasts every morning in walking distance. My daughter got an earache the first night and I walked across the street to a local market where they sold practically everything and thank goodness aspirin! Our room had a full kitchen even though I did not pay for it.
