It is hard to describe this resort in a few words, but it is billed as the largest gaming facility in the world, and was New England's sole casino until competitor Mohegan Sun opened in 1996. The action at the Foxwoods Resort Casino starts with five casinos boasting 5800 slot machines and 350 gaming tables. There are 1400 luxury hotel rooms, 24 restaurants, a golf course, and a concourse of specialty shops. If you need a break from the gaming tables, the Cinetropolis entertainment complex features movies and nightclub action and the amazing Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center is around the bend. A recently addition to the property is the stellar MGM Grand at Foxwoods.
