Although there is no stylish decor, the service can be inconsistent, and the wait an inconvenience, this pizzeria is worth every bit of hassle. This is where you go to experience the best pizza in New Haven (always competing with Sally's Apizza, down the street), if not the world. Pepe's introduced pizza to the New World and has been making pizza a local legend since 1925. There is nothing like the amazing white clam pizza pie, or the other coal-fired, oven-baked combinations at this legendary pizzeria. No slices; you order by the pie.

Disappointed
New to the area I heard this was one of the best places to eat pizza only to be extremely dissappointed. Pizza chains have better tasting pies and the service is much better. Don't order Ice Tea it will cost for refills. Will I go back? NO
