This was previously a cozy old-fashioned pub called the Oxnoble. Now known just as The Ox, it has been revamped and reborn as a new gastro-pub intent on keeping the same comfortable atmosphere while bringing the food a certain imagination and quality it never had before. The menu is broad without being huge and there are always specials available that include vegetarian options. Starters include black pudding with mustard sauce. Main courses like Moroccan-style lamb and bean ragout are extravagant and delicious.
