Back to Camp Palm Springs Fun But My Room Was Dirty I spent a week in Palm Springs and stayed at 3 gay resorts. This one was not my favorite, but it was pretty good. I would have given it another star, but my room was really dirty. Other guests were friendly. Staff was friendly. The play room was fun.
Reviewed by: KeethE from on Feb 05 2009 Depends on What You are Looking For! This place is famous for nighttime fun, but not for much else. The staff was reasonably pleasant. It's not so clean and the continential breakfast is a joke. One of the beds is our room did not have a bed frame. So the mattress was sitting on the floor. But the price is low. So if you know what to expect, you will enjoy yourself.
Reviewed by: Eric Appleworthy from on Sep 01 2008 Disappointing, sorry to say We booked a 3-day stay over New Years at a bit of a premium. In all fairness, the staff was friendly and helpful throughout the booking and check-in process (including being welcoming to our dog), and the public areas of the resort were acceptable. But when we got to the room, the worn and tawdry furnishings were reminiscent of a bathhouse, with a boingy bed and trash on the floor beside the nightstand. We were resolved to make the best of it anyway when my partner came out of the bathroom with a cockroach crushed in a tissue, saying “look what just crawled up my leg.” Upon closer inspection of the bathroom, we found more trash and another dead cockroach between the washbasin and the wall. We took photographs, showed them to the desk clerk, and demanded a refund, which (to their credit) we were given promptly. We packed up and drove back to Los Angeles the same evening. We’re not picky snobs, but for $150 a night we do expect not to have to share our room with vermin. Sadly, this trend toward gay resorts as “glorfied bathhouses” with lousy accommodations is growing more common in Palm Springs, while classy places like The Villa are closing. Pity...but the trend won't change until customers demand it, and it seems cruising potential is a higher priority than sleeping in a clean room on decent bed for most people.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 05 2008 Great place to stay and meet people I have enjoyed each stay at CPS. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the amenities include a heated pool, great Jacuzzi, nice play area. I noticed recent upgrades including new paint etc. Management seems to pay attention to the details to make your stay enjoyable. Close to restaurants, bars etc. I go as often as I can.

Reviewed by: john from on Sep 24 2006 I love Camp PS Camp PS is an exciting place to stay. The resort has a nice, friendly staff and meets all of my expectations. The rooms are large and the beds are comfortable. A very affordable place to stay and the play areas accommodate large crowds.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 17 2006 ready to return! i was greatly surprised at everything at the resort. i had a great time and the room was spotless, the staff was perfect in their jobs, the property was first rate at an affordable price. the hotel is in a great location with restaurants close by, and shopping and other dining options near by as well. my room wasa the size of my entire apartment at home. the bed was the best i had ever slept on and the furnishings were brand new. it was a short 3 block walk to a gay bar and just a short drive or cab ride to many others. i absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the area for a day, week, month!
