While Lanai's on-land activities may be scarce, the waters off shore provide hours, if not days, of entertainment for dive enthusiasts. Excellent dive sites surround the tiny island. This company takes groups from Lanai, Maui or Molokai (usually Maui) to popular sites. Shipwrecks, reefs, lava formations and underground caves are all on the itinerary. Levels of dive range from beginner to advanced level. This company has a good reputation on the islands and internationally. Call or check the Web site for more information and reservations. Note: Reserve dive times seven days in advance; it takes the company that amount of time to obtain the required permit from Lanai officials.

Local Shop Runs things Best
I am a local who works at Maui Memorial Hospital. When I get a chance to dive Lanai I always dive with Extended Horizons. Their boat takes only 12 divers at a time to Lanai. There has always been enough space to sit comfortably and store my gear. The guides are head and shoulders above what I have experienced elsewhere in Lahaina.(or the world for that matter) All the guides are safety and eco conscious and i do not hesitate to recommend this company. They are top notch and have an eye for details. All dives are guided so it is not a free for all like I have experienced on other Maui dive boats out of Lahaina.
