As its name suggests, La Fourmi Atomik, translated as the atomic ant, is not your usual sort of place. This two-storey house on the very steep rue d'Auteuil is a cooperative that spotlights visual arts, as well as a pub and a nightclub. On the ground floor, people of all ages and backgrounds have every sort of discussion over a beer, while in the basement others dance to the sounds of loud alternative music. In the summer, folks enjoy a great terrace overlooking the St-Jean Gate.

La Fourmi Atomik is now closed
This club has been closed since 2002. It has reopened under the name Bar Le Temps Partiel on rue d'Aiguillon in Quebec City.
