Back to Orchid Tree Inn Orchid Tree Inn??? There is NO Orchid Tree Inn! It died several years ago when developers from Santa Monica bought the property and let it die--along with the lovely plantings that were denied water till they wasted away. Our favorite place in PS to stay...gone forever
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jul 17 2008 I would live there if i can I loved everything about the place. It is effordable and calm. I would go back there 100 more times. Even though I have hard time getting hold of them. The pools are always clean. And what I mostly love about the place is the freedom. The owner is not up our butts 24/7. Speaking from past experiances at other hotels. :o)

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jun 22 2006 Iknow this place better then all of you My grandparents managed the orchid tree inn in the 60's thru 1971. I would spend 2 weeks out of every summer vacation here. Swimming in the pool next to the front office and riding bikes built for two, then walking over to Thrifty's for an ice cream cone. Sure its changed alot, grown much bigger, and not like staying in some 5 star hotel with all the services, but check out the price ?And if your a family who lives on a budget, maybe not spending a grand for a weekend (like disneyland) is the kind of get-a-away vacation from LA or Riverside that your looking for. Dont forget the ride up the tramway.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jun 10 2006 We're Coming Back Stayed there two years ago. One of the most spacious and attractive set of rooms we have ever had (traveled in over twenty different countries), with very convenient location and great view over pool. Several Hollywood folks there, for film festival, while we were. We will be back in January.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Dec 20 2005 Good location, decent rooms Great location to downtown Palm Springs, the rooms are basic, and they offer a basic breakfast included in the price. It is a good deal but don't expect luxurious amenities.
