Considered one of the premier lodges within the National Parks system, this hotel was built in 1905, 14 years before the Grand Canyon was designated a national park. A combined effort of the Santa Fe Railroad and the Fred Harvey Company, this three-story, chalet-like structure is crafted from natural stone and Oregon pine. Renovated in 2005, at a reported cost of $4.6 million, its impressive dining room has a panoramic view of the canyon.
