This neighborhood is not touted in any of the Tel Aviv tourist brochures, the way its next door neighbor, Neve Tzedek, is. Few of the 50 to 70-year-old buildings have been renovated, though here, in terms of density, is Tel Aviv's largest concentration of Bauhaus architecture. And true to the Bauhaus spirit, this is a strictly proletarian district: there are many small workshops - the primary industry being furniture. One corner of the neighborhood has seen a revitalisation, brought, in part, by the art school, Vital, situated in a converted ice factory. Here, on Vital Street is a string of hip cafés and restaurants, including Cafe Vital and the Humus Bar.With several clubs and restaurants staying open late, the area has a lively nightlife. It also has a cult-like status among young Israelis, following a TV serial by the name of "Florentine" that charted the lives and loves of 20 and 30 somethings living in the area.NYC Best Hotel Deals: 50% Savings In New York!
