Back to Victorian Inn (The) The Ideal Inn Great location to walk around Edgartown, within very short walk to the docks. Our extended family took up a number of rooms at the same time in October, and everyone was happy. Breakfast was quite good. Owners friendly and very helpful in selecting restaurants within walking distance, providing for special requests. The bathrooms were the cleanest I've ever seen in a traditional inn. Comfortable parlor for conversation. Feels like you're part of the historic community.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 22 2007 Unforgettable! I loved the daily afternoon tea with cookies. It was great to smell them baking (especially on the one rainy day during our 7 day stay). The location is perfect -- near a bookstore, movies, shopping, eateries, the bus pick up & the beach. The owners are very accommodating & friendly. Stephen is a real comedian & Karyn bakes all the goodies.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 22 2007 We will be back!! Can't say enough good things about our stay. The breakfasts were fantastic, our room was perfect and the overall location could not be better to truly enjoy downtown Edgartown and the beach. Great hospitality....beach towels, a cooler, bug spray were all provided as a great convenience. We highly recommend this for everyone.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jul 16 2007 Best B&B in Martha's VIneyard!! Love the clean, cozy and convenient house, beautifully decorated. Breakfast is Fantastic!! Homemade cookies with tea in the afternoon. Karen and Stephen, the owners, are so sweet and helpful. A minute's walk to everything. Can not wait to go back! No TV is a GOOD thing, as I did not have to ask the people in the next room to turn it down at 2:00am - which I've had to do many times, at other places.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 21 2007 We'll be back Steve and Karyn are terrific hosts..the Vic is a wonderful place to stay while visiting the Vineyard. The guest rooms are charming, well-decorated and extremely comfortable. There is easy access to the beach and the rest of Edgartown.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 05 2006 Simply Wonderful I find the review of the "rude innkeeper" and for "older couples" disturbing. I found that the owners and their staff was nothing but helpful, kind and funny. My experience couldn't have been better - ranging from check in/out, breakfast, afternoon tea and cookies, clean and comfortable rooms and private bathrooms, and wonderful service at your disposal. They even give you beach chairs, beach blankets and coolers!! The location is perfect. Our experience (despite being young) was wonderful and I look forward to going back. We highly recommend the Victorian Inn to any and all travelers.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 31 2005 great location, beautiful, mediocre service this inn is beautiful, meticulously clean, and in the perfect location in downton Edgartown. Excellent attentive service during breakfast as well. Downsides are the rude innkeper and high prices. Best for older couples.
