Back to Historic Mansion Inn (The) Don't Do it It is hard to rate this hotel because we did not stay long enough to get the full experience. We were greated by the son in a tie-dyed t-shirt. The entire building was decorated in the troubling decopage pictures created by the owner's wife, dozens and dozens of almost identical orange washed plaster plaques of the back side of reclining female nudes, and hundreds of home-made dolls. The floors were old linoleum, and there was clutter every where. There is very limited parking in the back of the building. The elevator was half-full of a ladder, larger art work by the owner's wife and tools. We were so unsettled by the whole appearance that we immediately left and found another hotel. If you are looking for a cozy New England inn, this is not it. There is no "luxury" about it.
