This restaurant has been called "the most romantic restaurant on Martha's Vineyard" and many consider it the best, considering the ocean view enjoyed from every table. The menu, which changes daily during the peak season, features regional cuisine with an island twist, and guests can choose from a four-course prix fix or order a la carte. Beef Wellington has been a staple for 45 years, and there are always selections of locally caught seafood, often seasoned with herbs grown on the grounds. It also accommodates catered functions for up to 200 guests.

Food great, service lacking
As seasonal Chilmark residents for the last 25 years the Beach Plum was one of our favorite island traditions. We are happy that the executive chef James McDonough has been retained by the new ownership yet are displeased by the overall drop in quality in the restaurant. We arrived 10 minutes late on a weekday in June and were greeted by a hostess with the most dour expression I have ever seen. The 25 minute wait for our wine to be served could possibly have been forgotten if it were not for the continued ineptitude and rudeness of the waitstaff. Alas.... all good things must come to an end.....we will miss our delicious meals at the Beach Plum Inn and fondly remember the days of yesteryear............

No
