Lenkom Theater, founded in 1927, was originally named the Theater of Working Youth. In 1938 the theater received the name Theater of Lenin's Komsomol, a short version of which gives us the theater's present name. Despite the elitist, orthodox implications of its name, Lenkom theatre gave birth to the first Russian rock-opera Yunona and Avos in 1973, after the arrival of new director Mark Zakharov. Today, the theatre still shows rock operas. Some of Russia's best actors play here, including Karachentsov, Iankovskii and Abdulov.NYC Best Hotel Deals: 50% Savings In New York!
