Why I won't stay at Wyndham
A guest and I stayed at the Wyndham Hotel in Palm Springs on September 5, 2009. The stay was originally set for 2 days (Sept. 5 thru 7, 2009) but the second day was canceled for reasons revealed in a moment. Let me first say that the 2-night stay rate at your hotel was very competitive but that is where the customer service ended! I understood that the hotel was under "renovation" therefore a few "inconveniences" might be expected but renovations can't explain everything, starting with:

Worst Experience!
A group of 10 of us stayed this past Labir Day weekend for a friends birthday. The hotel is under construction, if we would've known, we would've went somewhere else. The front desk staff and security staff were VERY rude. Only the service staff were very friendly and accomodating. The a/c sucks. Do not stay here to celebrate anything. They do not take too kindly to gatherings in a room. Maybe if they had a full service bar and lounge area instead of a make shift bar, we would've had some place to hang out and celebrate a birthday! I usually recommend friends to stay here when in Palm Springs. NEVER AGAIN!

AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!
We stayed here for a Nationals Dance competition and it was an mess. What a shame the competition was held here. First I must say that Joseph and a woman whose name I believe was Monica or Michelle at the front desk tried to be very helpful and respond to our many issues initially. Our cleaning service staff was ok though they did not leave wash clothes or handtowels on several of the days that they cleaned. We stayed for 6 nights amidst the remodeling of the hotel and were very disappointed. Our room was one of newly remodeled rooms and was very clean and nice BUT our thermostat did not work It could not be adjusted below 75 degrees the first two days and not below 70 degrees for the remainder of the trip, the bathtub did not drain properly and we stood in 2 - 4 inches of water while showering, the desk outlets 'blew' every time I plugged in more than two plugs, the main hall light in our room was out for two days and took 4 contacts with the front desk to get it replaced, we had only one garbage can in a Jr Suite room, the slider doors on the cabinet did not work properly and we could not use the drawers for storing clothes, we did not have ANY water for one full day and part of another day due to it being shut off for remodeling on the floor above us. The smoke alarms went off three times and we had to evacuate the building. TWICE at 7:15 AM. Construction noises were heard daily thru 5pm. The business center was closed and no accommodations were made for internet usage elsewhere. The regular restaurant was closed and poolside food and towel services were combined in one area. We stood in line EVERY day to get towels, once waiting 20 minutes just to get towels. We were told by Jeff that we had to wait our turn to get towels while he took orders for food and drinks, passing right by the towel rack each time he went into the makeshift kitchen/bar to order food. The pool area was not fully cleaned each evening, leaving bird droppings, litter, and tree debris on the walking areas. One treadmill in the weight room was not working properly. The ice machine on the 4th floor had problems and completed flooded the tile and new carpet in the hall way by the machine. A prepaid package I left to be mailed out via UPS on Friday June 26 was still not sent until June 31.

Do Not Stay At This Resort
We could not wait to check out of that place! Stayed there from 4/16/09 to 4/19/09 (this morning). Worst experience for any Wyndham Timeshare we have stayed at. The outside may look nice but once you get to your room, your will be very disappointed. We will be contacting Wyndham Corporate to complain about this resort. So many things wrong with this place - will list the things that stood out the most.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
I went there for our 1 year anniversary and I wish i had looked elsewhere. The fact is, Wyndham is going to go through a renovation pretty soon and it's going to get converted to Marriot. For paying over 130 per night for a basic room, it is absolutely ridiculous. The second you walk in, you feel like you've stepped back into early 90's decor. It looks like nothing is changed. There was only one person at the bar working, only 1 person at checkin. It appeared like I was in some ghost town. The hotel was nearly empty but yet they were too stingy to give me a courtesy upgrade. The air conditioner at one point felt like a heater at night blowing hot air. Everything about this hotel feels run down. The pool table at the lobby was not well alligned so all the balls rolled to the left. This Hotel really sucks and really needs a renovation for the price that they are charging. I don't think that I'm going to return to Palm Springs for a long time and if i ever do, I will avoid Wyndham. The only thing that is good about this place is the large pool. Nothing else. Please!!! don't waste your money here! Instead stay at San Guiliano and get your own private Jacuzzi, plasma screen, dvd, kitchen and etc.. too bad they were booked during the weekend we need it.

I have no one to blame but myself
I should have read the reviews before I came here. It would have saved me the frustration of experiencing it for myself. No free wi-fi service, nowadays that's outrageous. The rooms are tiny. The shower have low water pressure. I've stayed in better rooms in Mexico. The hotel looks nice from the outside, but that's all it has going for it.

Stay somewhere else!!!!
I just got home from a few days at this hotel, our room took forever to be ready, the staff at the front desk was totally rude, never smiled once.Tha a/c in this place sucks.Trying to get a cup of ice water by the pool is an act of God. Trying to get food or drinks by the pool was almost impossible, so my family ordered pizza, we were sitting eating at some tables outside when we were told we could not have outside food there. At 11:00pm my aunt called security due to someone throwing things at her room and knocking on her door and running, of course security never came. The bathrooms by the pool were disgusting, never cleaned. To top off our trip, the last day there was a cockroach the size of kansas in the closet ON my moms pants. The only friendly helpful people at this hotel are the bellman, who have to stand outside in the heat to help you, while the front desk staff sit in the a/c and have attitudes. Was not even worth the 88.00 a night that we paid. I suggest staying someplace else.

We had a nice time
Liked the pool and liked the service. Rooms were a little blah. My wife and I got an affordable getaway weekend for a reasonable price. Would probably come back.

Go somewhere else
This place is a joke. Terrible customer service, run down rooms. If the convention center wasn't next door they'd be out of business. Resturant was terrible, reservastions seemed to mean nothing. Leaky toilet, noisy A/C, not enough pillows for # of people we had booked for. No response from manager regarding complaints while we were there. Pool employees rude and aggressive. Try Indian Wells Resort instead, its further away from convention center, but excellent value and great customer service, not to mention kid friendly pool area, right on a nice golf course

Mislead
First of all our room had been given away, we needed to stay in a room that was way to small for a family with three teenagers. The front desk staff was very unprofessional and not very accommodating. These reservations were made a year in advance. They did however change our room the next day. However, this hotel was filthy!! What we booked on the website and what we actually got are two extremely different things. Needs major remodel! The rooms are very outdated, there was not one working outlet in the room that was safe to use, and the establishment does NOT allow any outside food or beverage to be brought in unless it is to your room.
