Located in the historical center of Moscow on the banks of the Moskva river, the Baltschug has a marvelous view of both the Kremlin and St Basil's Cathedral. The classically-detailed facade and the lush interior decor befit a five-star property. The classical eight-story building, originally erected in 1898, was overhauled and restored a century later. The hotel, complete with a world-class day spa inside, is a favorite of official delegations and celebrities. Red Square, the Bol'shoi Theater, and the Tretiakov Gallery are all within walking distance of the front door. Dining and drinking options within the hotel include Restaurant Baltschug (Contemporary European), Shogun Restaurant (Japanese), Cafe Kranzler, Lobby Lounge, and Bar Baltschug. This grand hotel seems almost too good to be true with everything it offers -- the staff can get you a ticket to the Bol'shoi Theater or the Novaia Opera; they can reserve a table for you at Moscow's posh restaurants and clubs; and, they can even help you obtain a tourist visa to Russia.
