A Labor Day weekend stay here was not bad at all. We had a nice and clean room (although they did go cheap on some renovations) and the staff was friendly. The location is right by the state park, which you can't beat. The people checking in in front of us had their credit card declined the night before, and the hotel didn't call to notify them-I would call 24 hours ahead to check your reservation if this is their policy.

In the AAA tourbook the place was advertised as newly rennovated. Actually it was desperately in need of rennovation. Our room was not clean--garbage in the drawers, mildrew around bathtub, mildew on ceiling with plaster cracked and looking like it would fall off, dirty under vanity around base of floor. No soap in the room--I had to call for some. The exercise room was closed down and if we wanted to use a pool we had to go up the street to the Crown since they were just beginning rennovation. We were charged $139, AAA rates--I should say overcharged--for a motel that was in worse shape than many one diamond places we've stayed. We contacted AAA and complained. Have not heard back from the motel's management. The guy who answered questions about travel was helpful. The management was NOT helpful when I complained at checkout. Location is excellent. That's the only thing it has going for it.

I enjoy the stay every time i go the hotel, parking is great, clean and very polite staff. the rooms are always very nice and we look forward to the next time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn, which happened to coincide with my husbands return from Operation Iraqi Freedom and our departure from West Point NY to Seoul Korea for our new Army postings.
