Back to Elbow Beach Bermuda Hotel needs an update decided to go back after trip several years ago.We stayed in a "Deluxe'"oceanview room,#252 in the main hotel to be exact. When turning on the water in the tub,a black sluge looking substance came out,After a period of time it cleared up.It appeared that the room had not been in use for a while. The water pressure was poor, but we managed; The room is located directly above the Veranda bar and the music comes up into the room--every night. We also had the smell from the cooking at Seahorse Grill below.Needless to say,we could have used a better room.We did not spend much time in the room--enjoyed the beautiful beach from sunrise to sunset every day!Overall, the entire resort is fine, but be very careful when getting a room in the main hotel. There are strong rumors that the entire main building will be remodeled in the very near future.Although the main hotel is a landmark,it is definitely in need of an update.Berrmuda is still a wonderful vacation spot, just don't expect too much for your living quarters.also, construction is rampant all over Hamilton, with large cranes looming over everywhere. The standing joke among cab drivers is that the"Crane"has taken over as the national bird.

Reviewed by: Kelly Bradley from on Jul 12 2007 Mr. & Mrs. Honeymoon Our room was very small and it was difficult to move around in. The sliding glass door screen was broken & off track. The furnishings were on par with a discount hotel chain. The bathroom was very small with cracked, outdated tile & fixtures. We became friends with other honeymooners who had somewhat better rooms for the same price we were paying. We honestly felt we really got screwed with these accommodations! Fortunately, the food was pretty good. Our only comps for the room dissatisfaction was a couple free drinks. I guess because we were so young, the hotel mgmt figured we would never be back again...well, they're right...and we have been telling others to avoid Elbow Beach Resort Hotel ever since.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Dec 26 2006 What a mistake! I don't mind paying to go first class. However at Elbow Beach you pay first class prices but do not receive the value or quality that you should. The room was dirty. (Both of them as we were moved once.) There is built-up soap scum on the bathroom counters, walls and floor. It appears as if nothing is ever dusted. (Large dust bunnies had accumulated under the bathroom scale.) Some of the food was well prepared and tasty. Tea in the Vernada Lounge was excellent but quite costly. Breakfast was mediocre at best: Two slices of tasteless french toast for $10 should give you some idea. The beach is great and for the most part the staff were accomodating. The free internet access in the lobby is also a plus. I'm certain there are other places to stay in Bernumda where one can find the elegance and luxury that you should be getting from Elbow Beach.

Reviewed by: THOMAS from on Jul 05 2006 Fabulous vacation The Elow beach Resort can boast some of the best hotel staff I have ever encountered. The beaches are amazing and the resort is like a traditional European vacation spot. Even at near full capacity the porperty was clean, quiet and delightful. We were in an older villa suite which was showing its age a bit but it was very clean and well located on the property. As in all Bermuda be prepared to spend generously to enjoy this wonderful atlantic oasis
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 25 2006 Why throw money down the drain? I went to Bermuda to get away from the hustle of my job for a week, and I had a really good time. I say that because I could of had a great time if I had booked a better hotel. The fishing and city are great but this hotel messed up from the get go. Even though i had booked the hotel two months head the room i booked was filled and it seemed that the hotel had underpriced me so I was left paying the balance. The service wasn't to bad even if it took longer then I thought it should. Well I hope this helps you finding the right hotel. And Bermuda has the best fishing just for a little hint.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 31 2005 GREAT LOCATION IN NEED OF TLC LOCATION IS FABULOUS! BEACH IS TERRIFIC. MAIN HOTEL IS REMODELED. THE ROOM WE WERE IN WAS ADVERTISED AS OCEAN VIEW, BUT WE HAD TO STRETCH OUR HEADS FOR A VIEW. IN GENERAL, THE ROOMS WERE OVER PRICED AND IN NEED OF A LITTLE TLC. IT'S NOT A FOUR SEASONS BY ANY MEANS, BUT THE RESTAURANTS WERE EXCELLENT.
