Back to Sterling Hotel Wedding party robbed I had a wedding there three years ago and invited family members and friends from out of town to stay. Our rooms were robbed. We filed a report with the police, called and tried to talk to the managers, and after many months got in touch with the owner. She promised to refund our losses and after more than three years we haven't seen anything. My husband, friends, and I still suffer from the devastation of being robbed on my wedding day. I wished I had posted this sooner because as I've just read others have experience the same problem.
Reviewed by: H from on Jan 18 2009 Don't get your hopes up My husband and I planned a much anticipated romantic weekend at this bed and breakfast. The hotel had clearly not been updated for at LEAST 20 years. There were several safety issues (railing falling apart etc.) but beyond that the room was only somewhat clean, the tub and sink were cracked, the water dripped all the time, the breakfast was not edible and THERE IS NO PARKING!!! Not that it is full but they have no lot, they don't validate for the lots in walking distance and if you want to park on the street you have to walk down to the meter every two hours so you are not ticketed.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Sep 06 2008 Best experience of my life The Sterling Hotel has the most courteous staff out of any hotel I have every stayed with. I was a guest at the Sterling for an extended period of time and I felt like family. Everyone was always willing to help and if I had any problems they fixed them very prompt. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the bedrooms are incredible. The Sterling has such a special feel to it and I would recommend staying here for ANY occassion.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jun 17 2007 noisy nite It looks great from outside, well kept grounds and landscaping. Expensive suite and not as clean as I would expect for the price. The bath floor could have been cleaner. As for the good nite rest, about 3am or so it sounded like someone was running laundry carts down the hallway. Food was great in restaurant, but overall the place probably needs a bit more care.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 25 2007 LOVELY PLACE I recently stayed at the Sterling Hotel and had a wonderful experience. The dining experience was just as wonderful. I was in town for a conference and the hotel was blocks away from where I had to be. The staff were kind and very helpful. I would love to return in the future with my husband for a weekend getaway.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 04 2006 Room Robbed I travel frequently and stayed at the Sterling for 3 nights in early October 2005. On my last night there, my room was broken into and I lost my cell phone, blackberry, ipod, sunglasses, etc. The hotel had no explaination and is now dragging it's feet, which is quite disappointing. The police officer told me she wasn't surprised because the hotel is located in "a druggy area" of town. I'm just thankful that my children weren't in the room when it was broken into.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 29 2005 A Great Place To Stay The Sterling Hotel was a great alternative to the run of the mill. Sure it was an "old" building, but that was what we were looking for; an old victorian with style and class. Great place to stay.
