Set in a fine Victorian, brick building, this collection is most certainly the high point of your trip to Pietermaritzburg. Housing one of the country's most important collections. The gallery's shell is the old Supreme Court of Natal, built in 1871. The gallery was housed here much later, becoming a permanent resident in 1990. A well-known gallery, it contains an impressive collection of South African art as well as Victorian, French and British collections. Bodenstein Collection

The Bodenstein Collection at the Tatham Art Gallery is a beautiful compilation of sculptures and tribal art work. The sculptures are the works of Zondi brothers, Michael and Mandlenkosi, Asmon Mzila and Hezekiel Ntuli, who's featured works here include beautiful clay figurines. The permanent exhibit also includes impressive love letter necklaces of Zulu origin.
