This is Israel's answer to Cannes with previews of new Israeli movies, reception parties, award ceremonies and screenings of foreign films. The 10-day festival (which last year featured more than 150 films) is spread over several venues, with the hub of activity being at the Cinematheque. Directors frequently give talks after premieres and the whole audience and cast is invited onto the lawn for cocktails and finger food. There are also free events such as screenings of films at local parks.
