Excellent service & amazing beds!!
I booked the hotel on Priceline.com and didn't know what to expect really. I called the week prior to arrival to confirm the reservation and after stating that I was celebrating an anniversary, the receptionist kindly offered a free upgrade to a King with fireplace. What a fabulous surprise! Upon arrival, we were greeted with a bright smile by the concierge in the lobby. There was a short line at the reservations desk so he checked us in without hesitating. It was the most pleasant and swiftest check-in ever. He asked if we needed directions anywhere and we told him that we were scuba diving for the weekend at San Carlos Beach. He pulled out a map, highlighted the route and off we went! I was a bit restless the first night of our stay so I listened to the sea gulls above the rooftop. Closing the windows helped tune out the gulls. The most pleasant part of the room, however, was the amazingly soft featherbed and smooth sheets. It's on par with those ridiculous thread counts that they have on cruise ships where you want to take all the bedding home! Def helps you fall asleep. The location is fantastic. If you've done your fair share of visiting the Aquarium and Cannery Row and you like getting away from tourists, this is the perfect place to stay! It's a short drive into town and the wharf (~5-10 min) and only a few blocks from Downtown (Alvarado St.) where you have a ton of restaurants and shops to choose from. 2 bakeries, gas station and Denny's located across the street. But you don't have to even leave the hotel if you want a great meal. I didn't get to try the restaurant but the food looked and smelled great! Sano Spa is also located on the premises for additional relaxation. The only downside is the parking sitch. Get there early to scout out a spot close to your room. Can be a bit tight on weekends, but I'd definitely stay here again!

Ok place but dont book online
Nice location, great restaurant and lobby. A bit dated on modern amenities like air-conditioners or exhaust fans which are completely missing. And the rooms are very small with old and dirty carpets.

Not a cute, quaint hotel. Straight motel.
Let me preface my review by letting you know I work for a company that maintains hotels and motels in an investment portfolio. So, I am aware of the marketing effort that takes place to draw in people. That said:

LOVE THIS HOTEL!!!
My boyfriend & I were set on leaving for the weekend but we couldn't find a hotel that was a decent price and worth staying. Everytime we thought we found one we'd search for reviews and not only would we find horrible ones but we'd find pictures that were completely different than the ones we first saw on the hotels website! I found Casa Munras on Orbitz (I believe that was the one) And it looked nice and had great reviews! I looked on Casa Munras website and not only were the prices decent but the rooms looked great! We called and Reserved the last Traditional King room package which included a 25 dollar credit towards the bar/restaurant/lobby store! and customer service was beyond nice (maria) We were so stoked! THEN we started reading more reviews.... it sounded like the hotel from hell. we couldn't believe the mess we got ourselves into! and customer service told us you had to cancel 48 hours in advance! And we made the reservations 48 hours in advance! We thought we were screwed.. we tried to be positive but every review sounded worse than the last! 220 bucks down the drain!! Anywho we kept the reservations and oh my god when we got there it was so worth it! I don't know maybe my boyfriend and I got lucky! But we both loved it! Not one complaint!! We were in room 260 upstairs on the end so we only had one neighbor and we were right above the pool! It was awesome!! and the customer service is so nice!! They give you directions to everything and a ton of recommendations! My boyfriend and I were so happy!! We went to carmel the first night for dinner and on the way there we looked at the hotels we had originally looked at online and they were SO CRUMMY!! The pools were right on the street! Litterally! they were right next to the sidewalk! And they didn't look half as nice as Casa Munras!! The only complaint I have is that the security guard or whatever he is by the 17 mile drive enterance was a COMPLETE JERK, HE WAS SO RUDE! Other than that it was excellent and so worth it!! I'm sooooooooo glad we didn't cancel!! We will DEFINATELY go back!!!

Misrepresented
The website makes it appear as though it's a secluded resort on the beach while you smack dab in the middle of town. If the lights don't keep you up the lack of ammenities will. While we found the room clean, we had no cold water and a "semi" broken toilet. Our intentions were to spend a nice cool night on the coast and instead we roasted in bed (even with the hotel supplied fan). Parking is extremely difficult. Upon check in Manny was extremely thorough. We appreciated this. The gentleman who checked us out could care less how our stay was. I would not recommend this hotel in Monterey.

We definitely enjoyed our stay! The staff was pleasant and professional, and the contenential breakfast was really nice. The rooms are on the smaller side, but definitely comfortable. The DVD player is a nice touch.

Our stay at Casa Munras was great. The hotel was very clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I think it was well worth the money we paid for the room.
