This huge Swedish-built hotel is located on Vasilievskii Island in the Gulf of Finland. It sits in the middle of a vast concrete platform leading down to the water. There is a small beach directly behind the hotel, which provides an opportunity for sunbathing (although definitely not in the winter), and swimming if you're feeling brave. The 1,200 rooms are supplemented by numerous bars, restaurants and modern business amenities. A shuttle bus connects the hotel with the city center and the Nevskii Prospekt Metro station.
