With the help of the Museum of European Cultures and National Museums in Berlin, the Stadtgeschichtliches Museum presents a wonderful exhibit, A Hundred Years of Advent Calendars. It features over 300 such calenders that had been in use over 100 years ago. The aim of such calenders was to bring out the excitement of the festive season apart from telling the days left for the coming festive.

The Leipzig Mendelssohn pays tribute to a brilliant composer— Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, on his 200th birth anniversary. Having taken the late 19th century by storm, his music was applauded where ever it went. The exhibit is a detailed documentation of his life, his works, competitors, social circle etc through letters, early publications and pictures.
