Back to Dan Hotel Tel Aviv Dream sea view Paid $70 more a night and got a room with an ocean view. It was gorgeous, amazing. I can't believe the other reviews here. The room was large, comfortable, with a beautiful bath that had both a tub and a shower with lots of water pressure. Waking up each morning and drawing the curtains to the dazzling views of the Mediterrean lifted my heart and I can't wait to get back. I would have been happy staying in the room all day. The executive lounge, available to guests with this room, had computers and refreshments all day. They got weird about bringing in guests though and could be downright rude. The breakfast, in a vast dining room with sea views, was massive and an assortment of food that took up three huge tables, from eggs to blintzes, to 5-10 kinds of cheeses, to 10 kinds of cereal, to fruits and many kinds of salads (don't get how Israelis can eat salad for breakfast and never will). The location of the hotel is ideal. I would go back in a heartbeat. It is not a hip or trendy hotel although there's a fairly hip and very good restaurant you can reach through the hotel lobby.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jul 02 2008 Downhill Dan This once-lovely hotel has gone downhill in a major way. Many of the rooms are undergoing badly-needed renovation. The so-called executive suite sea-view rooms, for which we are paying top rates, are small, run-down and awkwardly arranged. The public areas are dark and dingy. Worst of all, the current staff treats guests rudely. Every time time our family has entered the lounge that is associated with the exeutive rooms, we are rudely asked for our room number, told our room number is not eligible for the lounge. Then we have a hostile back-and-forth, then they grudgingly concede. They refused to honor a prior request for a window-side table at dinner. The amenities in the room are virtually non-existent.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 06 2007 Very comfortable, if a bit weird Local consensus says this is the best hotel in Tel Aviv. Though not up to five star standards in Europe or the US, the hotel is located right across from the best beach in the city and is convenient to shopping and restaurant/nightlife.I stayed in the less expensive wing facing the street for $150 a night. Comfortable room, albeit a bit dated, particularly the bathroom. The public spaces sort of ramble in sort of a disorganized, impersonal manner. The large, dark lounge in the lower lobby never seemed to have anyone in it. Hotel has both and indoor and outdoor pool (salt water) and a spa, though getting to it involves an elevator ride to the 4th floor and then a walk up a flight of stairs, across an empty roof deck, then back down another flight of stairs. Very weird layout.Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate and is excellent.
