You will find this fascinating museum in the small town of Okehampton, near the distinguished town hall. The museum itself is housed in an interesting old mill building and still has a working water wheel. It has a series of changing exhibitions which show how people have lived and worked on Dartmoor for hundreds of years. There are craft displays, a shop and a tea room for refreshments.

Kitchen & Open Range Jul 27th, 2009 to Dec 31st, 2009
The Kitchen & Open Range exhibit at the Museum of Dartmoor Life displays kitchenware used in Dartmoor ages ago. Unlike present times there were no automatic machines but rustic equipment to cook and prepare their meals. Right from the fuel for fires to chopping wood, everything was done manually. Providing an amazing insight to how people lived in those times, this exhibit is a must-see for all. Check website for timings.
