This covered market has been trading in the old Stannary town of Tavistock for hundreds of years. On Tuesday they sell antiques, bric-a-bric, collectables and crafts. Wednesday and Thursday are mixed days, when you can find almost anything on sale. Friday is a Royal Charter day, when they sell food, clothing and shoes. Saturday is another changeable market day. The first Saturday of the month is called "Aladdin's Cave", selling second-hand goods of all kinds, including genuine antiques. The second Saturday is a craft market, where all the goods must be home produced. The third Saturday is a mixed fair again, as is the fourth Saturday of the month. But the fourth is always a special occasion, as it's a Victorian Market, with all the traders dressed appropriately.
