The Karlstor train station is the largest multi-event venue in Heidelberg, offering alternative programming which is not offered anywhere except Heidelberg. There is a cinema and theater, under one roof, as well as room for special meetings and a cafe-restaurant. Mainly indie-concerts of various trends, jazz concerts, small art performances and lyrical lectures take are organised here. The "Media Forum-Cinema" shows foreign alternative films in their original languages with German or English sub-titles. There is also award-winning theater, dance and music. Admission fees vary depending on the kind of event.
